Choosing a decorator.
When choosing a decorator you should ask the following questions:
Is the firm adequately insured?
Is the quality of materials guaranteed?
Will the work be done by competent tradesmen and properly supervised apprentices drawing fair wages?
Will the decorator give a guarantee on his work?
Can I be sure the quotation is fair to all parties in order to ensure a good, lasting job?

Choosing colours.
Try out paint samples on several walls in a room and see how light falls and affects the colour at different times of the day. Many change in artificial light.
Consider confining a bright colour to one wall. This works well in living rooms, kitchens and larger halls. China blue is a good option.
Collect colour charts from DIY stores to help narrow down your choice of colour. When you have a better idea of your colour scheme, use sample pots
to paint small areas of your room, to check the effect.
