Choosing colours

Try out paint samples on several walls in a room and see how light falls and affects the colour at different times of the day. Many change in artificial light.

Consider confining a bright colour to one wall. This works well in living rooms, kitchens and larger halls. China blue is a good option.

Collect colour charts from DIY stores to help narrow down your choice of colour. When you have a better idea of your colour scheme, use sample pots to paint small areas of your room, to check the effect.
